Pre-purchase review
As a newer model the Encore GX has a relatively short track record, but a few themes are worth noting. The turbocharged three-cylinder engines are efficient but can feel and sound busier than a four-cylinder, and like most modern direct-injection turbos they warrant attention to oil quality and service intervals to keep the timing and turbo hardware healthy.
Germany and Europe
US-market Encore GX cars run amber front and red rear side markers, have no rear fog lamp and use US-beam headlights, all of which the TÜV expects addressed.
Plan to fit a rear fog lamp, adapt the headlights to a European beam pattern, and correct the side-marker lighting. The odometer reading is documented and converted to kilometres.
